I. Supernatural

Entities exhibit behaviors and traits that cannot be explained by modern science, including post-mortem sentience, short-period metamorphoses and controlled phase changes. They are considered highly dangerous and face harsh sanctions if unregistered. SRA materials printed prior to 1987 may refer to Class I entities as “Paranormal”.

II. Other

Any entity of non-human origin that cannot be explained by Paranatural science and which exhibits traits too unusual to be considered supernatural.

III. Paranatural

Previously thought of as Supernatural, these entities are now understood to be natural phenomena and their traits can be explained in terms of modern biology, chemistry and physics.

IV. Magico-Religious

Humans who have acquired Supernatural or Paranatural powers through magical, spiritual or alchemical means. Although still a minority among the non-human community, the entities in this class are growing in number.
